Jacinta obtains her inspiration from many sources
such as nature, architecture, locations and old fabrics. Her addiction
to beautiful fabrics is evident as she combines colourful designs with
natural cloths such as silk, wool, linen and cotton. She is able to
apply designs in many different methods including hand printing and
hand painting and, for extra special embellishment, to use
appliqué and embroidery to create truly unique pieces.
Jacinta firmly believes that good design will always work, whether it is modern or traditional and is open for commission and ready for a challenge.
Jem Studio provides a unique service to the textile
industry by designing and creating beautiful and luxurious fabrics for
interior designers, architects and international fabric houses.
Jem Studio was set up in 1997 by Jacinta Edge after she graduated from the National College of Art and Design with a degree in textile design. At Jem Studio Jacinta will bring the design from concept through the various stages; from sourcing fabrics, investigating print techniques etc. to the finished article. This provides the customer with samples of different print techniques, colour combinations and effects to choose from.
